Camila can be as quiet or as chatty as you want. Below the defaults and how to change them.
What we send by default
Off until you turn them on: push notifications, marketing emails, follow-live email digests.
On by default: the in-page banner that shows when a model you follow goes live while you're already on Camila (it's small, just informational, and doesn't make a sound).
In other words: install Camila, follow models, browse — and we'll send you nothing unless you ask.
Turning notifications on
Settings → Notifications. Toggle each:
- Model goes live — push when a followed model starts broadcasting
- DM reply — push when a model replies to your DM
- Scheduled show starting — push 5 minutes before a ticket show you bought
- Big-tip animation in followed rooms — push when a tip over your threshold lands somewhere you follow (off by default; popular among regulars who like the FOMO)
- Daily digest email — one email per day at a time you choose with a list of who's been live in the last 24 hours
- Weekly recommendation email — curated picks based on your activity (off by default)
Each is independent. Turn on the ones you want.
How to stop notifications without uninstalling
Phone-level: iOS Settings → Notifications → camila.live → Off (or per-type customisation). Android Settings → Apps → camila.live → Notifications.
Account-level: Camila Settings → Notifications → Off all.
Per-model: in any room, the bell icon next to Follow turns notifications off for just that model.
Data usage cheat sheet
| What you're doing | Roughly per hour |
|---|---|
| HD 1080p stream | 1 GB |
| HD 720p | 700 MB |
| SD 540p | 400 MB |
| Low 360p | 200 MB |
| Audio only | 30 MB |
| Browsing profiles, no stream | 5 MB |
| Sending DMs | < 1 MB |
If you're on a metered cellular plan, Audio only + low Save data mode in the player drops a 4-hour Camila session from 4 GB down to about 120 MB.
Save Data mode
Settings → Display → Save Data. When on:
- Default video quality drops to 540p
- Live thumbnails on the home page stop animating (still images instead of looping previews)
- Profile galleries lazy-load (not all photos preloaded at once)
- Background CX top-up retries pause if signal is weak
Save Data doesn't reduce features — just the bandwidth. Toggle on when on cellular, off when on WiFi.
Background data on Android
Some Androids aggressively cap background data for any browser. If notifications stop arriving when the app is in the background, check Android Settings → Apps → Chrome → Mobile data → Background data and make sure it's allowed.
Quiet hours
Available under Settings → Notifications → Quiet hours. Pick a window (e.g., 10pm–8am) where push notifications are silenced. Notifications that arrive during quiet hours stack and are delivered as a single summary at the end of the window — useful if you don't want to be woken up every time a Romanian model goes live at 3am.
