Watching Camila on your phone

Camila is a web app, fully responsive, with no separate mobile binary required. Open camila.live in Safari (iOS) or Chrome (Android) and you have everything: streams, chat, tipping, DMs, toy controls, payments.

Getting started on mobile

  • iOS Safari, iOS Chrome, Android Chrome, Android Firefox, Samsung Internet — all supported.
  • Old browsers (anything before 2020) may not support the streaming codecs we use; update your OS if streams won't play.
  • Mobile data: 1 GB per hour for HD, 400 MB for SD, 200 MB for low-quality. Use the Save data mode (gear icon → Quality → Auto/Low) when on cellular.

Add Camila to your home screen

For an app-like experience without an actual app:

iOS Safari: tap the share icon → Add to Home Screen. We become a single-tap icon, full-screen, no browser chrome.

Android Chrome: tap the menu (⋮) → Add to Home screen (or the install banner that often appears automatically on first visit).

The home-screen launcher uses our purple/pink branding and gets you straight into the platform without typing the URL.

Picture-in-picture

iOS 16+ and most recent Androids support picture-in-picture for HTML5 video. Tap the PiP icon on the player to pop the stream into a floating window — keep watching while you do other things on your phone.

Audio-only mode

In the player settings, switch to Audio only — the camera turns off but chat and tips keep flowing. Saves 90% of the data and doesn't drain your battery. Useful on the train.

Battery and overheating

Streaming HD video is one of the most power-hungry things a phone does. To avoid your phone getting hot:

  • Drop to 720p or 540p — barely visible difference, way less heat
  • Brightness on auto, not maxed
  • Close other apps you're not using
  • Plug in if you'll be watching for more than 30 minutes

If your phone is overheating regularly, Audio only mode is the fix.

Notifications on mobile

We can send push notifications for:

  • A model you follow going live
  • A model replying to your DM
  • A scheduled show you bought a ticket to starting

iOS asks permission once after you add the app to home screen; Android asks at first visit. You can change settings later under iOS Settings → Notifications → camila.live, or Android Settings → Apps → Chrome → Notifications → camila.live.

Tipping and toys on mobile

The tip button is the same as desktop, just larger. Apple Pay and Google Pay are both fully supported and are the easiest way to top up — three taps end-to-end.

Toy controls work on mobile but the buttons are smaller. Some viewers prefer to put their phone in landscape for the toy panel.

Why no native app?

iOS App Store and Google Play don't allow adult-content apps. A native app would mean side-loading (Android) or using a third-party store (TestFlight workarounds for iOS) — both are friction we'd rather not impose. The web app gives you 95% of the experience with no install.

We're working on a discreet "general lifestyle" companion app that handles only DMs, notifications, and CX top-up — without any explicit content — which can live in the App Stores. Keep an eye on the changelog.
